I own a Sony CLIČ PEG-T615C (discontinued). I love my Sony. When I went looking for a Palm, I wanted 16 meg of on-board RAM and color was optional. Then I fell in love with the Sony Jog Dial. So to get the jog dial, I had to get the T615C.
Anyone willing to donate the new Sony PEG-UX50, let me know!
This is a list of programs I have installed on it with the corrosponding links.
* - Designates a free download.
+ - Designates a trail download.
This is a simple Blackjack game, with banners of course. It has to do with gambling, so there's advertizements when you enter and exit the game. But if you just want a good game of Blackjack, this will suite your needs.
I suggest this app for any Palm user that uses the datebook often. At least try it out.
I use this for my daybook instead of the Datebook app that comes installed by default. I really like the different views you can use. For example, when your in the month view, you can tap on a day in question, and it displays the events scheduled for that day in a pop-up window. After a few seconds that window disappears and your stay in the month view. There are many, many more features this program has. I haven't broke down to purchace this yet.
If you use the demo, you can use the full version the first 15 days of the month. The last half, you have to use a restricted version. I can live with that till I get the money.
Want to know whats on your palm? This is your 'windows explorer' for your palm. It'll show you information about files on your palm you wish you never knew. What I really use this program for is beaming files I couldn't otherwise beam.
You can filter which files you want to see. You can view files on your memory card. You can do a lot more, check the web site for more details.
After using this app for a while, I tend to like it. I'm a fan of any GPL software first of all. Second, it tells me how I'm doing gas wise with my car. It can break it down per fill-up, or total. It handles multiple cars, but I'm not gonna need that feature anytime soon.
Pac-man fans need this!
The version of Gobble (v2.0) I have says its freeware. But I can't find it on the homepage anywhere. So I'll put it up for download.
This is the game I have the most experience with. I've sat in ITCS 1214 many days playing this game. I have one comment, the computer can see your cards. I swear some times it just seems way too coinsidental that I get the Queen of Spades 3 games in a row. I admit I'm not the best player, but I've been playing Hearts since I was a kid. There have been games I only take one trix, and that one trix has the Q of Spades in it. If that happens once, I understand, but it happens a lot more than that.
Other than that, a great game. I'm a big fan of Hearts in the first place, and this game is well done.
I couldn't get very use to the Graffiti characters. They wern't natural enough for me. This allows for more natural characters, for example the 't' and 'i'. Plus allows for different variants of strokes for one character.
This is another gambeling program, so naturally it'll have banners and advertizements. Its flashy, like a casino. Watch out for the sound. If your like me you play in class from time to time. Well the 'Sound Off' doesn't save from game to game. If you leave the game, the sound will be back on. Real emberessing if your Palm starts beeping at you in the middle of class.
Its a standard poker game. Nothing fancy about it. There's an advertizement at every turn, which gets annoying, but I guess that's the price you pay for freeware.
I'm no chess player, so level one is stinking hard. If you like Chess, this might be worth a download. You can play "You vs. Pilot / You vs. Another Person / Pilot vs. Pilot". You can setup the board, and even get hints thru the game. It's got a lot of features that make it a good download for the novice player to the advid one.
Scott Ludwig has since released PocketChess Deluxe v2.5 which is available for a trail download. But if you google for Pocketchess you can find version 1.1 which is freeware.
I opted to buy this instead of a TI-83 or any of the TI graphing calculators. Do I regret it? Not really. I like having the stylus to point to a graph location and have it zoom in to that spot, or drag the sylus over an area to zoom in on. Or click on a spot on the graph to tell me the y-intersect or derivative of that spot.
They have a 30-day trail version. I suggest this to anyone that doesn't want to shell out $80-$100 for a TI-whatever, but still get the functionality of a graphing calculator.
This is a must-have for any LDS member that wants the scriptures on his/her palm. Its a lot more convient than toating around all the scriptures. Not only can you toat around the entire standard works, but the General Confrence Addresses are available. And the past few Engisn's have been available for download on Palm before they were mailed out to the homes.
A slick Solitare game. You can play more than just the generic Solitare. The games available are Daemon, Baker's Game, and Klondike. Klondike being the game we're all use to being the one that comes with Windows.
A good time waster.
Its all out war. Its a tank game for your palm, what do you expect? The controls are a bit finakie. As with a lot of games, it won't work on Hi-Res mode on the Palm. Once on regular video mode, its still not very useable. Right now it's just taking up space on my palm.
I love it! Its the old Missle Commander game. It can't be call that due to copyright issues. But a must have. I haven't gotten past level 5 yet, but I've only been playing it for a short while.
Get it!
